  Ballet Back to Top

CDTA respects and cherishes the legacy left to us from the classical traditions of the great masters of the past.  The CDTA syllabus was developed utilizing training techniques from all methods of ballet.  Examinations on this syllabus are offered to students of CDTA members.

  Ballroom Back to Top

CDTA Ballroom has two categories - International Latin and International Ballroom. The syllabus is based on "The Technique of Latin American Dancing" published by the ISTD and "The Revised Technique" by Alex Moore. Membership is available in the levels of Affiliate (student teacher), Associate, Member and Fellow.  Amateur medal tests may be arranged for students of CDTA members.

  Scottish Dance Arts Back to Top

This discipline offers the opportunity to train and to be examined in the historic dances and choreography based on authentic movements originating in Scotland.

  International Folk Back to Top

Several different programs are available for individuals who wish to learn more about international folk and obtain teaching certification.  Examinations are offered to students of CDTA members:  children exams for ages 7 - 17, and for adults, amateur, professional and fellowship.

The  combination of dance technique and acrobatics, forms this graceful dance discipline.  Movements flow into flexible bends and stretches and the strength of balances and aerial challenges give this dance form its breath taking  appearance. CDTA Examinations are offered in acrobatics.

Baton students develop ambidextrous skills along with physical fitness, self confidence, gracefulness and quick thinking.  Twirling for individuals as well as groups, teams and corps is a most beneficial and enjoyable endeavor. CDTA offers  its Baton syllabus to member teachers and their students.

  Jazz Back to Top

Jazz thrives in our society today.  The CDTA syllabus is an intensive program of technique for teachers to work with for the overall development of their students. The examinations are well rounded and extremely beneficial for teachers and students alike.

  Tap Back to Top

The CDTA counting technique is beneficial to the overall development of the teacher and student.  The use of rhythms, choice of music and the knowledge of the history of tap is taught and examined in the CDTA syllabus.
