Dress & Regulations
2008 / 2009

  Attire

Our students wear a regulation dress. All students are therefore dressed the same (we can't very well run a fashion show on a daily basis).  Dancewear is very reasonably priced and  available at
Step N Out Dance Boutique in Hamilton (905-575-7164)

.
.
  • Girls: all students wear a black tank top leotard
• Ballet: pink tights and slippers
• Tap: beige tights and black tap shoes
• Jazz: beige tights and beige jazz oxford shoes
• As students progress into the more advanced grades, appropriate shoes are required
• Boys: black t-shirt, black bike shorts and appropriate shoes

.
.
  During classes all students are:

• Required to wear studio regulation dress, which includes the securing of hair away from the face.  Grade II Ballet students and over must come to class with hair in a bun.
• Not permitted to chew gum
• Not permitted to conduct themselves in a disruptive or unruly manner.

.
.
The studio reserves the right to dismiss any student whose conduct (or the conduct of his or her parent) conflicts with the standards (including the rules and regulations) set by the studio.
.
.
Students are placed in classes according to ability.  Promotion is considered on the basis of individual achievement at the discretion of the directors.  Accordingly, classes are not necessarily promoted as groups.
.
.

The studio will not be responsible for lost or stolen articles.
Smoking is not permitted in the studio or reception areas.

.
.
The following payment schedule will be strictly adhered to:

• Payment in 10 equal post-dated cheques dated Sept 1st, 2008 through June 1st, 2009.
• Classes may be discontinued at any time.
• All cheques not deposited will be returned provided one week's written notice is given.
• There will be a $10.00 studio service charge in addition to bank charges for all NSF cheques.

.
.
Please do not try to talk to the teachers between classes, as their schedules are extremely busy.  Questions may be directed to the secretary in the front office or, if you have a particular concern, you may make an appointment to speak to the directors.

Our students are prepared for the Performing Arts Educators of Canada or the Canadian Dance Teachers Association Examinations in Ballet, Jazz and Tap. Qualified students will be selected at the discretion of the directors.  Jazz students wishing to take exams must include Ballet in their dance curriculum.

.
.
Competitive dancers are chosen for the LLDS Dance Company from students who study all disciplines of dance.  Auditions for the Company take place during Summer School.  Dancers are individually assessed and put in levels according to their physical and mental ability, as well as size and age, of course at the discretion of the directors.

Photographs/videos of students taken by the studio during class time or performances may be used for promotion as advertising in newspapers, brochures, web site etc.
